Unit Conversion Contest
Winner: Timbor
Here is my unit entry for the conversion contest. I have made a hill goblin captured cannon with 5 hill goblin crew. The hill goblins pride themselves on looting their weapons and uniforms from fallen soldiers. Since the hill goblins come in such diverse shapes and sizes, they can usually fit into men and dwarf’s clothes. Their current cannon has survived 3 whole battles – a rarity for cannons used by such creatures. It has sustained some damage from improper loading, but the hill goblins were handy enough to patch the cracks using some pieces of scrap metal.
This conversion uses pieces from the following sets: empire cannon, empire militia, empire 6th ed state troops, dwarf 6th ed troops, night goblins 6th ed, goblin wolf riders, orc boar chariot, chaos marauders, as well as greenstuff.
Contest Info
As you may or may not know, special army lists were constructed to support this campaign. It’s time to make them come alive!
As a second opportunity, following our character conversion contest, now it is time to let the average trooper take the spotlight.
Convert a unit, of at least legal size, to represent one of the Campaign units. Now, I don’t want you to show me any units that could legally belong in the normal army books, so no regular crossbowmen or archers for example. What we are looking for are the more exotic troop choices, like pikes, mounted crossbows, halfling rangers, a ribauldequin, orcs with handguns, a skeletal war elephant or a skaven phalanx. Get creative!
“Counts as” units, with a clear explanation of what they depict, are permitted, and you can use bits from any manufacturer as always.
Entry in this competition will earn you Campaign Gold, and winning it (or ending well in the ranking) even more. This Goldwill then be of use to you during the campaign (you never know who you want to hire, or bribe for that matter).
The deadline for this contest is April 25th, so you have almost 2 months to get this done. Start today, or you’ll be too late, trust me.
